In 1871 a group of friends set up a YMCA branch in Nottingham and they are still there! This grade II listed sportshall has some stories to tell.
It’s now a dedicated space the 1871 membership with CrossFit and strength and conditioning at its heart.
To promote the launch of the 1871 space. The main gym windows have been utilised to catch passing eyes. A large intricate display. Obviously a typography inspired piece.
1871 and their core values displayed on a huge scale in a busy city centre location! Clear concise message at a distance with a huge depth of detail once close.
Working alongside our creative design agency Serosensa. Re-Brand of the YMCA GYM Sports Hall - 1871.
The old Canadian Maple Pine original gym floor was reclaimed and used as a key part of the rebrand.
Taking inspiration also from the traditional gym floor markings. Even the directional signage are small panels of mounted reclaimed gym floor.
We created huge CAD cut SAV wall graphics on the ceiling and walls, inspired by previous floor markings. The main feature wall boasting a 4m high “1871” logo. Again cad cut from SAV wall graphic material.
